Mentoring is a collaborative learning relationship where a more experienced or more knowledgeable person, the mentor, offers support, insight, and wisdom to facilitate the growth and development of a less experienced or less knowledgeable person, the mentee. It provides an opportunity for a mentee to gain valuable experiences, guidance, and knowledge from someone who has walked the path before them. It involves skill development, personal and professional growth, networking opportunities, and the nurturing of potential.

The mentee will never be asked to disclose things that they do not feel comfortable discussing. However, a successful mentoring experience requires regular communication between the mentee and the mentor. If communication ceases between mentee and mentor for a period of three (months or 90 consecutive days), the mentorship will become inactive.
